Overview

Lekhini is a personal journaling app built with privacy as its foundation. It works entirely offline on your device. We do not operate servers, databases, or cloud services that receive your data. This policy explains what that means in practice.

Data We Collect

None. Lekhini does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. Specifically:

No personal information (name, email, phone number)
No usage analytics or behavioural tracking
No crash reports sent to external services
No device identifiers or fingerprinting
No location data
No advertising identifiers or ad networks
No cookies or web tracking technologies

Data Stored on Your Device

All journal entries, settings, and preferences are stored locally on your device using on-device storage. This data is:

Encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption with a key derived from your PIN via PBKDF2
Accessible only to you — protected by your PIN
Never transmitted over the internet
Deleted when you uninstall the app

Network Access

Lekhini does not require an internet connection to function. The app makes no network requests of any kind — no API calls, no telemetry pings, no background syncing.

Export & Import

Lekhini provides an export/import feature so you can back up or transfer your diary. Exported files are password-protected and saved to a location you choose on your device. This process is entirely local — no data is uploaded to any server.

Third-Party Services

Lekhini does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or data-processing services. There are no SDKs embedded in the app that collect or transmit user data.

Children's Privacy

Because Lekhini collects no data whatsoever, it is safe for users of all ages. No information from any user — including children under 13 — is ever collected or transmitted.

Permissions

Lekhini requests only the minimal device permissions needed to function:

File access — only when you choose to export or import a diary backup

No other permissions (camera, microphone, contacts, location) are requested or used.

Changes to This Policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Since we collect no data, changes are unlikely to be material.
